We should not be allowed to have negative inventory. If we enter in an order and there isn't enough product in stock, it shouldn't let us accept or ship the order - it should say shipment failed. Prior to the update we wouldn't be able to ship orders if there was not enough inventory. Now it is letting us and sending the inventory into a negative.

Steven Chung: I believe we do, at least the line item goes red, however the UX might be able to be enhanced. This was part of Matthews refactored UI

Steven Chung: i used to have a setting which prevented a user from going into negative inventory when creating an order.

Agreed! This causes all sorts of issues with inventory control and I much prefer how it was handled with Saleslitre than with Ollie Order.

I see this is under review but I'm going to throw my two cents in as well - from a control perspective, placing orders when there is negative inventory is a big no-no. I hope this gets fixed.

Depends upon client use case. Could be correlated to pre-sales or backordered items which will be fulfilled in time for shipment.
Challenge: 3PL needs inventory to exist. Camelot does not support Negative inventory.
Requirements needed.
Private warehouse vs 3PL scenarios. Jessie & Stacy would be good for feedback

Steven Chung: Yes this is currently in effect, with 3PL's the order is not allowed to be processed unless the inventory count is positive, with self managed inventory the line item is highlighted in red

Agree! It is also important to see how much inventory there is available before adding the product to the order (similar to in Sales Litre) vs after adding it to the order.
